This article describes a new screening test, the DRAP, designed to quickly assess the articulation and the phonology of French speaking children, aged 3 to 6. Its norms are based on the responses of 199 children, 159 of whom are bilingual, and enrolled in a French school either in a French-speaking environment or in an English-speaking environment. The children’s performances indicate a significant age effect on the test scores, while the linguistic environment and the monolingual or bilingual status of the participants seem to have limited influence. Norms are therefore presented by age ranges, without distinction based on linguistic factors. Insights from this study on French phonology acquisition and disorders are also discussed.
