Abstract

The accuracy of number representation on the number line is correlated and predictive on arithmetical skills. The current research aims to sum up data on studies concerning number representation on number line and people with math learning disabilities (MLD - Developmental dyscalculia). A scoping method on six data bases was used. Results of this systematic literature review allowed to identify twenty studies. A synthesis thus revealed low performances for people with MLD comparing to people with typical development on a line from 0 to 100 and from 0 to 1000. In addition, MLD seem to use strategies less frequently, more atypical and less efficient. Moreover, interventions focusing or using number line with MLD showed that a suitable and targeted training is efficient on number representation and on calculation skills.
